Massican "Annia" 2017

Massican was among the first wave of the new California school, introducing traditional Italian varieties into the mix. This was a smart move for any winemaker in the region, considering that California's climate and topography are far closer to the peninsula than France, making it ideal to support Italian varieties rather than the French of yore. Sure, this has a bit of Chardonnay for body and texture, but Tocai Friulano and Ribolla Gialla are fresh on the scene. This is floral, nutty and very minerally.
