Originally created in 1895 by pastry chef Pasquale Vena, this secret family recipe has remained in tact for more than 120 years. Because Lucano is lower in alcohol than many other Amari, the true flavors are able to shine through without all of the burn. Rich bitter notes of root beer, licorice, coffee, and chocolate, are balanced by the merciful sweetness of orange peel, and an assortment of macerated and dried fruits, including raisin and fig.
