Champagne Jacquesson "744" Extra Brut NV

Established in 1798, Jacquesson is one of the oldest continuously-operating Champagne houses in the region. In the past 20 years, it has risen to the very top in quality of the historic producers, making a fraction of the wine produced at the "big houses." Also, they employ a very unique philosophy. Instead of blending grapes from multiple vintages to achieve consistency year after year, they wish that each release is special and shows the characteristics of the base vintage. The 744 (2016 base) is a very dry, tense wine with serious weight and complexity, but it isn't "heavy" at all. It's a joyful wine that would be great to enjoy throughout the course of a meal.
