Erste & Neue, or "First & New" is a co-operative winery that resulted of a merger between two different bodies. They are located just south of Bolzano, and produce fabulous values of very high quality. This intriguing native grape variety is medium in body and nicely textured with moderate tannins and acidity. As such, it's very versatile with food, as well as a delicious treat on its own. Expect flavors and aromas of crushed violets, bright spice, as well as ripe cherry and blackberry.
