Damoiseau VSOP Rhum Agricole

A family-run distillery, Damoiseau has deep roots on the idyllic island of Guadeloupe, just a stone's throw from Martinique. Sugar cane taken straight off of the estate is juiced and distilled in column stills before seeing a minimum of 4 years aging in second-use Bourbon barrels. The grassy, earthy funk that is characteristic of the Agricole style is softened and made elegant by time its time in oak, and becomes rounded with vanilla, nutmeg and clove. The powerful palate is smooth and well-balanced, with dried fruits and orange marmalade bringing this decadent beauty to an enduring close. Don't hide this in a cocktail, all you need to enjoy this is a rocking chair and a clean glass.
