Nikka "Taketsuru" Pure Malt Japanese Whisky

Named for Master Masataka Taketsuru, who founded the distiller in 1934 and became the "father" of Japanese whisky as we know it today. Taketsuru heralded the philosophy that quality ingredients and resources were directly linked to the quality of resultant whisky, and built two distilleries, each in a town that he believed to be rich with natural resources that would lend themselves to exceptional whisky production. This bottling is a marriage of single malt whiskies from both of those distilleries, Yoichi on Hokkaido, and Miyagikyo near Sendai. Delicate and elegant, the palate has layers of ripe stone fruit layered with gentle smoke and finishing with vanilla and classic sherry notes. This is a must for any Macallan lover, and a great way to become familiar with Nikka's whisky. *Spirits available for in-store pickup & local delivery. For NY state shipping, call the shop directly.
