Jean-Marc Pillot "Les Grandes Terres" Bourgogne Rouge 2021

2021 produced throw-back wines with a juicy freshness that makes them perfect for early drinking. The Bourgogne Rouge from Jean-Marc Pillot is a good example of that. The nose shows a subtle smokiness along with fresh red cherry flavors and woodsy, "holiday" spice. The palate is silky, with very fine tannins and juicy acidity. Because of this, it's a nice red Burgundy you can enjoy without food, though It would make a very nice pairing with seared duck breast or grilled salmon
