Nino Negri is easily the most-recognizable and historic producer in the Valtellina appellation, where a dramatic, mountainous terroir shows a more delicate, perfumed side of Nebbiolo than you might expect from the grape. The Nino Negri "Inferno" is sourced from several parcels in the evocatively-named subzone. A pronounced perfume of spice, dried flowers, plum and berry jam. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied and lightly tannic, with elegant notes of berry, dried herb and cedar spice.
