To be officially classified as Corn Whiskey, the mash bill must contain at least 81% corn, and make up the difference with rye and barley. Heaven Hill's Mellow Corn is one of the few surviving examples of this category of spirit and don't let the simple label fool you, it is surprisingly drinkable. A touch lighter and definitely less spicy than Bourbon, this whiskey is begging to be the base of a whiskey cocktail that calls for fruit.
