Roussanne is one of the most alluring, vivacious and unique white wines in the world. It is also exceptionally difficult to grow, often not ready to harvest until late October, and requiring hands-on assistance to reach ripeness. This bottling is much closer to the Roussannes found in the French Alps than the Chardonnay-like style that has usually pervaded Californian winemaking. Heady aromas of honeysuckle and apricot, with a savory overtone of cheddar lead to a silky, high toned palate.
