Happy 4th of July! In 1773 the Sons of Liberty threw a political protest denouncing the crown of England. Known in history as the “Boston Tea Party”, the story goes that they dumped crates of tea into the harbor. In fact, it was casks of their beloved Pimm’s, an honest mistake, just look at its color, somewhere between English Breakfast and Hibiscus. Combined with ginger ale, (lemonade, club soda or any combination), garnish with strawberries and wheels of orange, lemon and cucumber and your thirst will be quenched this 4th of July. Mix up a pitcher of the Classic Pimm’s Cup and enjoy a long holiday weekend, playing lawn games with friends and family with a truly American tradition. A gin-based spirit made from a secret recipe infusing gin with a delicate combination of herbal botanicals, caramelized orange and warm spices. Originally blended by James Pimm as an aid to digesting oysters, Pimm’s Cup went on to be sent to soldiers at the far edges of the Empire, be served at Queen Victoria's lunches and ended up making its debut at Wimbledon in 1971. Try it in a Spritz, Royale, Gimlet or Negroni in place of vermouth. Pimm's #1 is a flavor all its own. Tart berries and red currant sweetness are accompanied by notes of citrus and under ripe plum. Best when served in the classic Pimm's Cup cocktail over plenty of ice. It's the Spirit of the Revolution,
