"Bordeaux Deconstructed" Three-Pack

There are six allowable red blending grapes in Bordeaux, the Queens of which are Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. On the left bank of the estuary, you will find wines dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon and, on the right bank, Merlot. To fill in the gaps, you will find dashes of Cabernet Franc, Malbec, Petit Verdot, and (rarely) Carmenere. Winemakers and grape-tenders around the world were so enchanted by these French powerhouses, that many of these grapes became ubiquitous around the world, often given the single-varietal treatment, while some regions lay claim getting there first (e.g. Cabernet Franc in the Loire Valley). Consider this your Bordeaux blending kit. Here you'll find Trig Point from California (don't tell Giamatti), the Lamadrid Cabernet Sauvignon from Argentina (feel free to tell Giamatti), and Domaine du Nerleux "Les Loups Noirs" Loire Valley Cabernet Franc (please stop calling Giamatti).
